User Engagement (Modeling and Predicting)

Business Need/Problem:

The client wanted to increase engagement and retention of its users to grow membership and ad revenues.

Solution:

As dating site success is dependent on female users engaging with other users, Ismile Technologies applied advanced analytics to the unstructured data set representing chats of hundreds of thousands of people augmented by Facebook data, and developed a user model that vectored around four clusters. It was determined that user engagement could be predicted based on first communication by cluster.

Outcome:

The client reorganized individual news feeds based on categorizations of users and watched engagement skyrocket.
